Chicago Cubs Lineup: Cubs Out to Keep Pressure on Pirates, Montero off DL
The Cubs have manhandled the Pirates so far this year and today they’ll be looking to add to the pressure the Pirates are most certainly feeling. The Pirates and Cardinals are locked up in second place in the NL Central — eight games back from the Cubs.
Jake Arrieta is pitching for the Cubs today, which will make things even tougher for the Pirates. Miguel Montero has been activated off the DL and will be the starting catcher. Joe Maddon, again today, has Jorge Soler in at left field. Jorge had a decent day yesterday, going 1-for-3 with a walk and run scored, as he tries to break out of his slump. While yesterday was a better overall performance, Jorge is still having difficulty recognizing pitches, particularly off-speed pitches.
