Chicago Cubs Lineup: Lester Pitching, Heyward Back in Lineup, Baez at 3B

The Chicago Cubs (78-45) are in Southern California tonight to take on the San Diego Padres (53-71) at Petco Park. Jon Lester (13-4, 2.86 ERA) is set to pitch tonight and will be looking for his fifth win since the All-Star break.

Jason Heyward, as we wrote on Saturday, was out of the lineup for the last four games. He’s back in the lineup tonight and we’ll see how he comes out swinging the bat. Sometimes a few days off can reset a guy so we’re hoping that’s true for Jason. His offensive struggles have been well-documented and the reason for those struggles remain largely unknown.

Javier Baez is in at third base tonight and Kris Bryant will play left field and bat second in the order. Pretty standard lineup otherwise.
