Chicago Cubs Lineup: Hendricks Dealing, La Stella at Third, Heyward in Center
Kyle Hendricks (13-7, 2.09 ERA) comes into the game today as possibly the hottest pitcher in all of baseball. He hasn’t given up more than four earned runs all year and the last time he gave up four runs was way back on May 17. Out of all the incredible stories coming from the Chicago Cubs (88-48) this year, Hendricks’ performance so far has certainly been the most unexpected.
Yesterday Joe Maddon had a pretty standard lineup filled with mostly regulars. Today he’s mixing it up. Tommy La Stella is in at third base and Kris Bryant is out in right field. That move pushes Jason Heyward, who single-handedly won the game yesterday for the Cubs, over to center field with Dexter Fowler getting a rest today.
Javier Baez is in at second base today with Ben Zobrist getting a rest. And finally, Jorge Soler will be manning left field today.
