Chicago Cubs Lineup – NLDS Game 2: The Professor Takes the Hill, Baez at Second, Contreras Catching
Kyle Hendricks (16-8, 2.13 ERA) leads the league – by quite a large margin – with a 1.32 home ERA. The next closest is Jon Lester at 1.74. I imagine the Giants aren’t too keen about that. Hendricks will follow Lester’s masterful outing last night by taking the hill for the Cubs tonight.
Willson Contreras will be behind the plate, catching for Hendricks tonight and you can bet that he’s amped after seeing David Ross’ incredible performance last night.
Joe Maddon is making sure to keep Javier Baez, and his mad tagging skills, in the game again at second base tonight. Javy made it perfectly clear last night that he is ready to perform at a very high level for the Cubs. His incredible performance was key to the Cubs win. I would’ve been surprised if he wasn’t in there again tonight.
Here’s the rest of the Chicago Cubs lineup for game 2 of the NLDS.
