Kyle Hendricks Leaves Tonight’s Game Early with Injured Forearm
As reported by Carrie Muskat, Kyle Hendricks left tonight’s game with a right forearm contusion. The X-rays came back negative, which is obviously good news.
He was hit in the fourth inning on a line drive come-backer that left the bat of Angel Pagan at nearly 94 MPH. He was able to field the ball and throw it to first, not in time to get Pagan, who beat out the throw. Joe Maddon came out, had Hendricks throw a pitch and decided to remove Kyle from the game.
Hendricks allowed two runs on four hits in 3 2/3 innings. He also singled in two runs when he got a hit with the bases loaded in the bottom of the second inning.
Right now, it sounds like it the best news we could hope for. Hopefully it’s just a bruiser and he’s back in time for his next start. We’ll update you as we hear more.
