Cubs Announce Roster for NLCS: Zastryzny Added and La Stella Dropped
The Chicago Cubs have just announced their roster for the NLCS and it’s no surprise. They’ve added lefty rookie reliever, Rob Zastryzny to the roster and have left off Tommy La Stella.
Zastryzny was excellent in relief for the Cubs down the stretch after he was called up from Triple-A Iowa on August 19. He slashed 1.13/2.15/3.50 in 16.0 innings over eight appearances. Most notable was his 3.2 inning relief appearance on August 27 against the Dodgers where he gave up no runs on one hit and no walks.
The Dodgers have struggled against lefties all year and rank dead last in the league in batting average against. Their slash line is a dreary .213/.290/.332. That’s over 1,803 plate appearances, which ranks fifth in MLB.
