Chicago Cubs Lineup – World Series Game One: Lester Dishing, Schwarber in as Designated Hitter
Cubs fans, this is it. This is what we’ve all been waiting for our entire lives. The moment is here. The Cubs play game one of the 2016 World Series tonight against the Cleveland Indians at Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio. Man, it’s fun writing that!
Jon Lester (2-0, 0.86 ERA), who’s been out-of-this-world for the Cubs this entire year, and even more so in the postseason, will be dishing for the Cubs tonight. The Cleveland Indians may be looking to try and pressure Lester on the bases tonight, more than he’s been pressed so far in the 2016 postseason. Of course, if he pitches the way he has lately, the Indians may find they have trouble getting anyone on base. At least that’s what I’m hoping for.
Kyle Schwarber is in as the DH tonight, batting fifth in the order just behind Ben Zobrist. Chris Coghlan is in right field as Jason Heyward will sit tonight. Javy Baez is in at second base, a place he’s grown quite accustomed to during this postseason.
