Chicago Cubs Lineup: Prospect Showcase Lineup Today in Peoria
Yesterday’s Cubs lineup was Spring Training gold. Today, however, the Cubs will make the roughly 40-mile trip to take on the Seattle Mariners in Peoria, Arizona with a starting lineup that is much more minor. But maybe not by as much as you’d think.
Kyle Hendricks is getting his second start this spring after throwing two innings last Saturday against the Dodgers, allowing one hit and striking out one. He’ll be backed by a lineup that consists mostly of prospects, with the exception of Jon Jay, Miguel Montero and Albert Almora.
When I look at this lineup I can’t help but think how good all these guys are and, honestly, how truly exciting they can be. Jeimer Candelario, Eloy Jimenez, Ian Happ and Chesny Young are capable of big things and all are going to get ample playing time today.
This game will be televised on MLB.TV starting at 2:05 PM CT.
