Cubs Quick Hits: Schwarber’s Homer Tanks Cardinals’ Win Expectancy

Kyle Schwarber launched a 7th-inning pitch from Brett Cecil deep into the right field Busch bleachers to give the Cubs a 5-4 lead over the Cardinals. Before War Bear went yard, the Cardinals’ win expectancy was 66.9 percent. As though following the descent of that beautiful parabolic arc, or the Gateway Arch in the background, the expectancy dropped to a mere 30.1 percent as Schwarber jogged around the bases.
