Chicago Cubs Lineup: Russell Batting Cleanup, Almora in Center, Baez at Second
The Cubs’ newest starting pitching acquisition, lefty Brett Anderson, will take the hill today as they attempt to win their third straight series to start the 2017 regular season. A win today would give them two out of three over the Dodgers and would be a good start to their first homestand of the year.
Left-handed pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu will be on the mound for the Dodgers today, so the Cubs will start right-handed hitters Albert Almora, Jr. and Javy Baez. With Ben Zobrist out today, Addison Russell will bat fourth in the lineup behind Anthony Rizzo.
Joe Maddon is slotting Anderson into the ninth spot in the order, which will hopefully get the bats going. The Cubs have scored a mere three runs combined in their first two games against the Dodgers. #ThatsNotCub
