Reports: Jeimer Candelario to Join Cubs in Colorado for Doubleheader
According to reports by Jesse Rogers (ESPN.com) and Mark Gonzalez (Chicago Tribune), it sounds like Jeimer Candelario will be heading to Colorado today to join the Cubs as the roster temporarily expands due to the doubleheader.
We can expect a Jeimer Candelario sighting with the Cubs. Been tearing it up at AAA. Doubleheader allows for 26th man

Looks like Jeimer Candelario won’t be available for today’s I-#Cubs game. Chicago can add another player today and he could be it. #MiLB

We touched on the possibility of this happening today in the Rundown (and by we, I mean the ever-insightful, Evan Altman) so it’s not a huge surprise. With the addition of RHP Dylan Floro to the roster yesterday, the Cubs have an extra arm they can and likely will lean on when needed today.
Candelario was named the Cubs’ Minor League Player of the Month of April just last week. For the season he’s slashing an impressive .340/.443/.649 with four home runs.
