Cubs MiLB Update: Eloy Jimenez Assigned to Myrtle Beach
In a move that’s been a lot longer in the making than originally planned, top prospect Eloy Jimenez has been assigned to advanced-A Myrtle Beach, where he’ll be batting cleanup tonight. The announcement came shortly after fellow stud hitter Ian Happ was called up to the Cubs.

Our own Jon Strong spoke with Jimenez in Mesa Thursday, at which point he said his shoulder was feeling good and he thought he’d be moving on in a couple days. Guess he was right.
As if you already needed a reason to get down to the Grand Strand, the chance to see Jimenez mash up close and in person is something you should take advantage of ASAP. TicketReturn.com Field is a great place to watch a game and the folks at Myrtle Beach have done a phenomenal job of creating a fun and inviting experience, but the heavy-hitting outfielder may not be there long if he follows his current trajectory.
