Watch: Baez, Bryant, and Davis Key Huge Cubs Huge Win (Video and Audio)
So last night was fun, eh? The Brewers tied the game at two in the 7th, and took the lead the following inning after the Cubs had led for nearly the entire night. Credit to Justin Grimm, who got two strikeouts in the 8th to keep the score at 3-2.
Ian Happ respected 90 on a controversial infield single (he was called safe on the field and replay was deemed too close to overturn), which allowed Javy Baez to play hero by driving in the tying run with a single up the middle. While it wasn’t easy, Wade Davis pitched out of a bases-loaded, one-out jam in the bottom half.
That all set up the reigning NL MVP, Kris Bryant, to deliver the crushing blow in the 10th with a towering two-run homer. Wade Davis went back out for the 10th and wasted little time shutting things down. But enough rambling from me, enjoy below!
