Chicago Cubs Lineup (3/26/19): Almora Leads Off, Zobrist Second, Edwards Starting Final Spring Game
Hooray, the fake games are almost done! Albert Almora Jr. is leading off in center, Ben Zobrist is in right, Anthony Rizzo is at first, and Willson Contreras is catching. David Bote handles third, Daniel Descalso starts at second, Kyle Schwarber is the DH, Mark Zagunis is in left, and Addison Russell is at short.
Kyle Hendricks was initially slated to take the bump today, but he spend three hours in an MRI tube as part of the required physical for his new $63 million extension. He’ll probably do a little day-drinking to celebrate the deal, then will throw a bullpen in Texas before debuting in Atlanta.
Carl Edwards Jr. will serve as an opener in this one, with Tim Collins, a lefty acquired when the Cubs DFA’d Brian Duensing, scheduled to follow. Brandon Kintzler is also scheduled to pitch, with several other relievers carrying the rest of the load.
First pitch from Sloan Park is set for 2:05pm CT and can be heard on MLB.com. If you have MLB.tv, you should be able to watch the Sox broadcast there.
