Report: Cubs Will Name Andy Green Bench Coach
According to Jesse Rogers of ESPN, the Cubs have chosen former Padres manager Andy Green as David Ross’s bench coach. Green replaces Mark Loretta, who will not be returning to the club in any capacity next season.

There were questions about Green’s command of the clubhouse in San Diego, especially when he was relieved of his duties prior to the end of the season after nearly four years there, but the Cubs clearly aren’t concerned with that. They had been prioritizing a coach with managerial experience and wanted a quick decision-maker to help Ross in his rookie season, qualities they saw in Green.
