MLB Asks Players to Report by July 1, Will Announce Schedule Soon

That was fast. After its latest offer was declined, MLB has asked players to respond by Tuesday at 5pm ET Tuesday on whether they can report within a week and can agree to health and safety guidelines. The previous wrinkles of universal DH and expanded playoffs will not be operable this season or next and the reported plan is to conduct as much as a 60-game season that would start in late July.

Expect a quick response from the players, who’ve repeatedly said they’re ready and just need to know when and where.
