Chicago Cubs Lineup (3/5/21): Happ Leads Off, Giambrone at 3B, Miller Starting
Ian Happ leads off in center this afternoon, followed by Joc Pederson in left, David Bote at second, and Cameron Maybin at DH. Austin Romine has been flexing power behind the plate so far and he’ll bat fifth. Then it’s Rafael Ortega in right, Ildemaro Vargas at short, Patrick Wisdom at first, and Trent Giambrone at third.
Shelby Miller is starting as he takes the mound for the second time this spring. The former Cardinal looked like an ace in the making when he was traded to Atlanta as part of the Jason Heyward deal, but he’s struggled with injuries and erratic performance since then. A return to something approaching that old form would make him a very nice option for a swing role in Chicago.
Slated to follow Miller are Gray Fenter, Juan Gámez, Tyson Miller, Tommy Nance, James Norwood, and Keegan Thompson.
First pitch is scheduled for 2:10pm CT and can be seen on Fox Sports Wisconsin or heard on Milwaukee radio. You can also watch a delayed broadcast on MLB Network.
