Watch: David Bote Walks It Off, Cubs Sweep Doubleheader
After Justin Steele escaped the top half of the inning with no damage, the Cubs looked to capitalize on the runner at second base to start the inning and walk off with a doubleheader sweep. Kris Bryant was moved to third on a groundout, and that brought David Bote to the plate. Bote battled Dodger’s reliever Garrett Cleavinger and ultimately got the pitch he was looking for. Bote ripped one over the head of Mookie Betts in right field to give the Cubs the win and a doubleheader sweep of the Dodgers at Wrigley. Not bad on a day where LA sent Clayton Kershaw and Trevor Bauer to the mound!
