Chicago Cubs Lineup (2/26/23): Madrigal Leads Off at 3B, Mervis at 1B, Assad Pitching
Fans will get their first look at the Nick Madrigal Third Base Experiment as the diminutive infielder leads off Sunday against the Dodgers. He’s followed by Zach McKinstry at second, Matt Mervis at first, and Edwin Ríos at DH. Christopher Morel is at short, Mike Tauchman — who I’m guessing none of you even knew was with the organization — is in left, and Nelson Velazquez is in right. Tucker Barnhart will be behind the plate and Ben DeLuzio is in center.
Ben DeWhozio? I actually think he’s got a good chance to break camp with the big club because he’s a really solid defender who can help them in the outfield.
Robbie Erlin and Javier Assad will toe the rubber in a game that starts at 2:05pm CT on Marquee Sports Network. The Cubs won’t have their own radio broadcast, but you can pick up the Dodgers’ call if you subscribe to the audio feature of MLB’s At-Bat app.
