Here’s What Wrigley Field Looks Like Now and What She’ll Look Like in 2017

If you’ve been following the changes to Wrigley, these pictures may not come as much of a surprise. But when I was up at the Cubs offices on Tuesday for a Q&A with Crane Kenney and other members of the team’s staff, I couldn’t help but be struck by just how stark and barren the old ballpark looked. Cement mixers were lined down the street and workers in hard hats milled about, readying the site for spring.

Below the pictures of what she looks like now are a couple of updated renderings of the new office tower and plaza that are set to open in 2017. I’ve already gotten some mixed response to the new buildings, but I actually like the way everything looks. Or, more appropriately, how everything is going to look.

Lots of work going on around the park itself.

Stars without makeup, indeed. The old girl looks weird with no marquee and much of the facade gone too.
