Chicago Cubs Lineup: Pirates Looking for a Shred of Dignity as Cubs Blast Off

The Pittsburgh Pirates (33-35) look to restore some type of dignity against the Chicago Cubs (46-20), who have absolutely crushed the Pirates this year winning seven of eight games by a combined 32 runs. And no, that’s not a typo but I did check it a couple times. I’m assuming that Pirates fans wish this was all a really bad dream but it’s not, it’s very, very real.

If the Pirates are to win they’ll have to do it against Kyle Hendricks (4-6, 3.05) who, as of late, seems to be the Cubs’ weak link at pitcher. His ERA in the month of June, over 18.1 IP, is 3.44 with a 4.83 FIP.

Dexter Fowler is being held out tonight in favor of Jason Heyward. Kris Bryant will start in right with Chris Coghlan in left. Fowler tweaked his right hamstring in Saturday’s game and is considered day-to-day.
