Chicago Cubs Lineup: Hendricks, Cubs Take Another Shot At Marlins

Sometimes I like to wax poetic – or at least try. It’s easy to do when you’re talking about baseball. Baseball is poetry.

See, that was kinda poetic…but you get the point. Baseball is a hot latin dance – a game filled with energy, passion, commitment and – naturally – sweat, lot’s and lot’s of sweat.

Everything in baseball is HARD EARNED. Right now, the Chicago Cubs (47-24) are busy ‘earning’ all of the things they will end up accomplishing this season.

Tonight, it’s Kyle Hendricks’ (5-6, 2.94 ERA) job to stick it to the Miami Marlins (39-34). He’ll get help from Willson Contreras, who’s been seeing ample playing time since his call up last week.

Kris Bryant is at first base in this one as Anthony Rizzo sits with a sore back. It seems like KB has played every position so far this year, so versatile. Rizzo’s back is thought to not be serious, but this is his second straight game missed, so hopefully he’s back soon.

Javier Baez will step in at third for Bryant. I’m hoping this is the game the Cubs offense re-engages.
