Chicago Cubs Lineup: Hammel Looking for 4th Straight Win, Bryant Gets a Rest, Baez at 3B

Jason Hammel (10-5, 3.23 ERA) has won his last three starts for Chicago Cubs (64-41) and will look to make it four in a row against the Miami Marlins (57-49) tonight at Wrigley Field. Hammel went six straight starts without a win before starting his current win streak on July 16 against the Rangers.

Willson Contreras is in tonight’s lineup playing catcher and batting second in the order, a spot he’s not batted in so far this year. He’s cooled off a bit since his hot start but is still batting .263/.355/.444 with a 117 wRC+. More than respectable stats for the rookie catcher.

Kris Bryant has the night off and Javier Baez will be playing third base in Bryant’s stead, batting 8th in the order just behind left fielder Chris Coghlan.
