Cubs Insider Raffling Spring Training Tix, Joe Maddon Autographed Hat, Andre Dawson Autographed Pic for Charity
Joe Maddon will be hosting the annual Respect Bald event this Saturday, March 4, at Sloan Park at 11am MST. The Cubs manager does great work in the community with various charitable organizations, namely Respect 90 and Hazleton Integration Project (HIP). The proceeds from the event this Saturday will go to help support pediatric cancer research and other programs through the former outfit. This is a fantastic event and a really cool chance to get up close to Maddon and the players.
We at Cubs Insider believe strongly in supporting the community as well, which is why we’ve partnered with HIP to raise a little money by raffling off some pretty cool stuff. Here’s the lowdown:

Rules to enter
Raffle tickets can be purchased via donations* in the following increments:
- $5 for 3 entries
- $10 for 10 entries
- $20 for 40 entries
Raffle starts today (as in now) and will end on Monday, March 6 at 6 PM CST. All raffle tickets can be purchased directly through Paypal (we have opted for this rather than a fundraising site like GoFundMe in order to minimize fees, which means more money goes to HIP). When you make the donation, please add a note with your name and phone number.
Winners will be chosen by random drawing and the first name drawn will have the opportunity to choose their prize. From there it goes to the second name drawn, at which point the third winner is stuck with whatever the other two people didn’t want.
All proceeds — every penny raised — will go directly to Hazleton Integration Project. They do some amazing work in Joe’s hometown of Hazleton, Pennsylvania to support educational, athletic and cultural activities at little or no cost to participants while fostering trust and respect among all of the region’s ethnic cultures. It’s a great organization that we feel privileged to be able to support.
And if this goes well, the plan is to have a subsequent fundraiser with even bigger prizes. Like, way bigger. We’re talking about the kind of stuff that would require a bump in the minimum donation. But let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves here.
