Where and How to Watch and Listen to Cubs Games in 2017 (Updated Affiliate Guide)

***Update***

It looks like a lot of you are finding this via internet searches even now in the 2018 season, which is awesome. The Cubs have not officially updated the information on TV and radio affiliates, but you can probably rest assured that most or all of the stations listed below have maintained their respective relationships. If they didn’t, it’s probably because you didn’t watch enough, so shame on you.

Please feel free to let us know if any of the stations are not longer carrying the Cubs and we’ll curate the list.

Without a doubt, the most frequent question that has drawn readers to Cubs Insider over the last few years has been “Where can I watch Cubs games?” We’ve covered MLB’s blackout rules to a great extent and it’s a topic that continues to drive intrigue. With the regular season upon us, it’s time to look once again at the various affiliate who’ve partnered with the Cubs to broadcast the games on TV and radio.

Rather than bore you with a bunch of my own commentary, I’ll just throw it over to the official press release.

CHICAGO – The Chicago Cubs today announced an updated affiliate station guide to complement the 2017 television and radio schedule featuring broadcasts from CSN Chicago, WGN-TV, ABC 7 and 670 The Score.

ESPN will kick off the club’s season opener Sunday, April 2, at 7:35 p.m. at the St. Louis Cardinals. For the team’s second game of the season, CSN Chicago airs its first of 80 games Tuesday, April 4, at 7:15 p.m. at the Cardinals (this game is scheduled for CSN+). WGN-TV’s first of 45 broadcasts will take place Wednesday, April 5, at 12:45 p.m. for the series finale at the Cardinals. ABC 7 will televise the first of its 25 games Wednesday, April 12, at 7:05 p.m. vs. the Los Angeles Dodgers. 670 The Score, the club’s radio rightsholder, will carry all regular and postseason games.

Beginning this season, all Cubs games on CSN will be accessible via live stream on CSNChicago.com and the NBC Sports app to authenticated CSN Chicago subscribers. Authenticated CSN Chicago subscribers also will have the ability to access live Cubs coverage, even when traveling outside of their region, provided they are within the United States.

Fans located in viewing and listening areas outside of CSN Chicago, WGN-TV, ABC 7 and 670 The Score markets can tune in to hear or watch Cubs games on the affiliate stations listed below. Information for each over-the-air game broadcasts also may be found on the broadcast information page at www.cubs.com.

Cubs fans living in markets whose service provider does not currently carry CSN are encouraged to contact their local providers to express an interest in viewing Cubs games. In markets that do not have a WGN-TV or ABC 7 affiliate station carrying the game or/and for those outside of the team’s home television territory, fans can purchase a TV subscription to MLB Extra Innings and/or mobile streaming on MLB.TV. Entering the 2017 season, Major League Baseball lessened broadcast blackout restrictions in order to provide more fans with the option of watching Cubs games via these subscriptions.
