Cubs Roster Update: Hendricks to 10-Day DL, Montgomery To Rotation
Some roster news out of Wrigley Field this afternoon, as Kyle Hendricks has been placed on the 10-day disabled list due to right hand tendinitis. No word on when he began experiencing issues, but this could perhaps have something to do with the control issues he experienced in his last start.
The stint is retroactive to Monday, June 5. Mike Montgomery will start in his place tomorrow against the Rockies.

The Cubs will fill the additional roster spot by adding righty Seth Frankoff to the bullpen for the time being. Frankoff is in his first year with the Cubs organization after spending seven seasons bouncing around with the A’s and Dodgers, and an appearance with the Cubs would represent his MLB debut.
He pitched well in 11 games (nine starts) with AAA Iowa, putting up a 2.77 ERA and 59 strikeouts with only 15 walks in 55.1 innings. He does have a tendency to give up the longball, as he’s allowed eight homers in that same time.
