Promising Results From Kyle Hendricks’ Rehab Outing in Tennessee
Kyle Hendricks, who has been on the DL since Monday, June 5 (retroactive) with right hand tendonitis, made his first rehab outing tonight for the Double-A Tennessee Smokies. While this was just a short start to kick off his rehab stint, Hendricks’ line looked promising. He pitched 3.1 innings, allowing two hits, one walk, and one earned run while striking out two. He threw a total of 45 pitches, 27 of which were for strikes.
It was short-lived, but @kylehendricks28 night is over.

Twitter user Reilly Fox appears to have been at the game in Tennessee and, for now, has offered the only insight into Hendricks’ velo readings for the evening.
Highest so far has been 86, but sitting in the low 80s

Word on the street is that Hendricks could be back with the Cubs for the Baltimore series, so stay tuned for more on that.
