Many of us lost a good friend today, and while Jason Heyward’s big home run Saturday night can’t bring him back, it felt like something of a tribute. John Arguello had an infectious enthusiasm for the Cubs and was one of the first to express confidence in the beleaguered slugger’s new swing. So it was fitting that said right fielder popped a game-winning homer the same day we learned of John’s passing.
I’m not ashamed to admit that I actually shed a tear or two when the ball cleared the wall in Milwaukee.
