Cubs Quick Hits: Carl Edwards Jr. Looks Pretty, Pretty Good Again
Carl Edwards Jr. was walking nearly one batter per inning not too long ago. The inability to effectively locate his trademark fastball led to an inflated 6+ ERA between July 1 and August 11. On August 12, I published a post here on Cubs Insider illustrating just how bad his command had been.
As if on cue, the lanky righty hasn’t allowed a single walk since I clicked “publish.”
Yes, you read the italicized words above correctly. Since August 12 (5 IP), Edwards Jr. has allowed only a single run while striking out nine and walking absolutely no one.
