Watch: Anthony Rizzo Gets Emotional Speaking About $3.5M Donation

I don’t know what the city of Chicago, and Cubs fans specifically, did to deserve Anthony Rizzo, but I’m thankful for whatever it is. Not only has he helped bring a World Series championship to town, but his commitment to charity continues to inspire an improve the lives of so many.

Tuesday morning, Rizzo delivered a check for $3.5 million to Lurie Children’s Hospital from his eponymous foundation. In the video below, he speaks about what it means to him — a cancer survivor himself — to be able to make such a donation after having dreamed of being able to make a difference in the lives of people in similar situations.
