Chicago Cubs Lineup: Heyward Leads Off, Schwarber Cleans Up, Lester Starts

Jason Heyward appears to be emerging as the secondary leadoff hitter behind Ian Happ. Heyward will be serving as the DH in today’s game, followed by Albert Almora Jr. in center and Anthony Rizzo at first.

Kyle Schwarber bats cleanup and plays left, Chris Gimenez is behind the plate, and Tommy La Stella handles third base. Then the Cubs have Peter Bourjos in right, Mike Freeman at short, and David Bote at second.

Jon Lester continues his march toward Opening Day with a start that should see him pitch at least into the 3rd inning against the Angels. I’ve got my fingers crossed for Shohei Ohtani (Update: Ohtani is pitching in the other half of a split-squad affair) and Mike Trout, but failing that, there’s always the possibility of seeing Yu Darvish hot lefty bombs.

First pitch from Sloan Park is at 2:05pm CT and can be heard on 670 The Score or the internet machine of your choosing.
