Ben Zobrist will be placed on the 10-day DL, according to ESPN’s Jesse Rogers.
Ben Zobrist said he's going on the 10 day DL to take care of a back injury. It's not serious but he's been out the last few days anyway and the Cubs can make it retroactive so Zobrist can return after the team's current road trip. They'll call someone… https://t.co/9NG18oJ6ue

Zobrist, 36 years old, was off to a hot start this season, batting .326 with a .387 wOBA that totalled 0.5 fWAR. His impressive WAR through 49 plate appearances is actually greater than his total WAR of 0.3 from last season in 496 plate appearances.
The Cubs are taking advantage of the 10-day DL this season. They were able to retroactively place Rizzo on the DL, during which several games were postponed, and will do the same to Zobrist. The veteran utility infielder can return after the team’s road trip. Unfortunately, we won’t get to see BenZo play in Cleveland after this Rockies Series. No follow-up doubles down the third-base line in Cleveland…for now.
