Steve Cishek Carted Away After Taking Throw to Knee, Initial Reports Positive
Because of course this would happen to one of the Cubs’ most consistent relievers. While playing catch — apparently he missed the operative word — with Brandon Kintzler in the outfield prior to Wednesday’s game, Steve Cishek was hit by a throw and went down like a sack of potatoes.
Tough scene from Coors Field, as #Cubs reliever Steve Cishek was carted off during batting practice.

Cishek was carted off the field, which signals something pretty significant, but the initial reports said it was nothing more than a bruise and that he might not miss any time. Which means he’ll hit the IL tomorrow and be lost for the season, of course. Just kidding, he’ll probably be fine. But still, thanks, Kintzler.
Word from the clubhouse on Cishek: was hit on the inside of the right knee. Appeared to no more than a bad bruise and his availability for today's game was to be determined.
