Yu Darvish Has MLB’s Worst Command According to One Stat
Prior to joining the Cubs, Yu Darvish’s command was relatively sharp. During no previous season had he walked more than 3.5 batters per nine innings. But as a Cub, the righty owns a brutal 4.6 BB/9 and now rates as having some of the worst command in MLB.
According to command+, a number that quantifies pitch location intention, Darvish ranks dead last of 156 qualified pitchers. With 100 being average, Darvish’s command+ rating is an unacceptable 86. Oy vey.
