Watch: Ben Zobrist Signs Autographs for 15 Minutes in South Bend
Ben Zobrist’s good-guy credentials have never been in doubt, but he managed to get his rep even further Friday evening in South Bend. Back in uniform for the first time since taking a personal leave from the Cubs in May, Zobrist appeared to be almost as excited as the fans who there to see him.
He was so pleased to be back that he actually asked ballpark security if he could sign autographs. Then he stayed there signing for about 15 minutes before they announced his name and he had to go play. Whether he ever makes it back as a contributor in Chicago, seeing how happy he was to be back out on the field makes this comeback attempt worthwhile.
