Video: Anthony Rizzo Rolls Ankle, Leaves Game After Being Helped Off Field (Update)

Anthony Rizzo was attempting to field a bunt when he rolled his right ankle and crumbled in pain after making the throw. It didn’t look good at all, as you can tell by the video below. He then left the game after getting helped off the field.

We don’t have any other substantive information yet, but will update you as soon as we do.

UPDATE: Per Jim Deshaies, x-rays came back negative for a fracture so we’re looking at a sprain. That’s definitely better news then it could have been. He’ll have an MRI tomorrow to determine the severity of the sprain and possible timeline for return.
