Watch: Nico Hoerner’s Incredible Debut at Wrigley Field Will Give You Chills
Nico Hoerner just had one heck of a Wrigley Field debut series over the weekend. He finished with a .429 batting average including four singles and two home runs. He scored six runs and drove in seven. That’s impressive even for the most highly anticipated debuts.
His energy had a major impact on a Cubs team that needs some big-time mojo to make up ground on the Cardinals in the National League Central. So, yeah, this performance couldn’t have come at a better time. The hope is that the Cubs will keep rolling as they come off a sweep of the Pittsburgh Pirates.
They play three at home against the Cincinnati Reds starting today before a four-game set against the Cardinals starting on Thursday. Stay tuned, folks, this is setting up to be one heck of a final stretch, and Hoerner is positioned to be right in the thick of things.
