Watch: Ryno & Javy Talk Shop on ‘The Relay’

Can you imagine Ryne Sandberg and Javy Báez holding down the middle of the Cubs’ infield together? Nothing would ever get through. While that will only be a reality in simulated games, we can at least enjoy Ryno and El Mago talking about hitting at Wrigley and the toughest pitchers they’ve faced.

Hearing Sandberg praise Javy’s heads-up play and willingness to do the little things to help the Cubs win is some great stuff. The conversation about the difference in analytics, which in Ryno’s day consisted of VHS video and taking notes in pencil, was excellent as well.
