Tuesday’s episode of The Rant brought us former Cubs starter Jon Lieber, author of a 78-pitch complete game shutout in which he faced the minimum number of batters. He talked about that game and his overall approach to pitching, then got into a little about how the game has changed. Spoiler: Liebs is not a fan of all the advanced data.

On the lighter side, he told us about the massive truck he bought against his wife’s wishes and the time he gave himself a black eye while doing a handshake. That incident led some Giants fans to confuse him with JT Snow, who’d recently been hit in the face by a Randy Johnson pitch.
