Have you ever been in a funk where you’re just blah, maybe even feeling a little sorry for yourself, and then something or someone comes along and turns your day around? That’s what this conversation with Wayne Messmer was like for at least two of the hosts of the show and a few viewers as well. Known to Cubs fans as a prolific anthem singer at Wrigley Field, Messmer is a professional entertainer of the highest order who is always moving forward down all five lanes of the highway at once.
That he’s able to perform at all is nothing short of a miracle since he was shot in the throat during a robbery in 1996. After rebuilding his voice and essentially teaching himself to sing again, he made good on several promises he made to himself in the hospital and an inspirational voice in every sense. I promise you’ll enjoy the time you spend watching this.
