David Ross, Five Others to Miss Monday Morning Workout Awaiting Test Results
Update: According to Patrick Mooney of The Athletic, five of the individuals tested negative. The sixth test — which was not for David Ross or a player — was compromised and had to be redone.
The Cubs received five negatives back for the six Tier 1 individuals who skipped today’s workout as a precaution while waiting for COVID-19 test results. The sixth pending test, which does not involve a player or manager David Ross, had been compromised and requires a redo.

The Cubs have announced that manager David Ross and five other Tier 1 individuals are awaiting their completed Saturday test results and will not attend Monday morning’s workout. A press release stated that while the overwhelming majority of test results from Saturday have already been reported, these six individuals anticipate further clarity later in the day.
“We’ve decided to do the prudent thing so myself and the five others will not attend this morning’s workout,” Ross said. “Out of an abundance of caution, we think it makes sense for the six of us to wait for clarity. Situations like this have not been a worrisome indicator of a positive test result to date.”
