Watch: Javy Báez Walks It Off, Cubs Sweep Pirates
We got our first look at the new extra innings rules on Sunday afternoon, and it was the Cubs who took advantage of the runner at second base to start the inning. David Bote started the bottom of the 11th as the runner on second base, moved to third on an Anthony Rizzo fly out to right, and that brought Javier Báez to the plate.
Javy ripped a single up the middle to bring home the winning run and secure the sweep for the Cubs, who now move to 7-2 on the young season.
