Watch: Anthony Rizzo and Kyle Schwarber Launch First Inning Home Runs
After a day off on Thursday, the Cubs resumed play on Friday against the Reds. The offense wasted little time staking Kyle Hendricks to an early lead. Ian Happ flew out on the first pitch of the game, but Anthony Rizzo deposited the second pitch of the game into the RF stands. Kyle Schwarber followed later in the inning with a solo home run of his own to give the Cubs the early 2-0 lead.
