Chicago Cubs Lineup (3/25/21): Alzolay on the Hill, Bote 2B, Duffy 1B for Cubs Night Matchup Against Dodgers
The Chicago Cubs will take on the Los Angeles Dodgers on a windy, chilly night in Mesa, Arizona. Depending on the direction of the wind at game time, things could be interesting out there tonight.
Ian Happ leads off playing left, Willson Contreras hits second, Kris Bryant is at third batting third, followed by Jason Heyward in right, and Javier Baez at short. Jake Marisnick, who’s batting .400 with four home runs this spring, might just be a surprise addition to the Cubs’ 26-man roster to start the season. He’s hitting sixth, followed by David Bote at second, and Matt Duffy at first base.
Adbert Alzolay is on the hill tonight and this may be the last time we see him for a little while. He’ll likely start the season at Iowa because an arbiter ruled in favor of MLB, giving Alzolay a fourth minor league option this season.
Alzolay has given up eight runs in four innings pitched this spring, so the fact that he’s a victim of a pretty lame procedural ruling may end up being a blessing for him. We’ll see how he pitches tonight against a pretty stacked Dodgers lineup featuring most of their regular starters.
Tonight’s game starts at 8:05pm CT and is being carried on Marquee Sports Network and 670 The Score.
