Jeremiah Paprocki Named Wrigley Field’s New PA Announcer
When longtime Wrigley Field public address voice Andrew Belleson left his post over the winter to pursue other opportunities, there was talk that the Cubs might opt to treat the position like they do the 7th Inning Stretch. No, not by showing videos of Harry Caray, but by using guest announcers until they’d settled on a permanent replacement.
Rather than go that route, they called upon South Bend Cubs on-field host Mark McGill to fill in through the first month or so. That all changes Monday, however, as the Cubs have announced 21-year-old Jeremiah Paprocki as the new PA voice at Wrigley. Paprocki is the first African American PA announcer in team history and he’s the youngest in MLB, though his voice belies his age in a big way.
He’s also a lifelong Cubs fan who credits his mother for passing on that legacy, and he’s been chasing this dream for quite a while now. Read the story from Russell Dorsey of the Sun-Times linked above and check out the short video below to learn a little more about Paprocki.

I don’t know this young man at all, but I’m very much looking forward to hearing him when I finally make it back. He’s certainly got the pipes for the role and I think he’ll be amazing in it.
