Adbert Alzolay Placed on IL, Kohl Stewart Recalled From Iowa

Adbert Alzolay left Monday’s game against the Padres in the 3rd inning with a blister on his right middle finger. That blister has now put him on the 10-day IL. The Cubs recalled Kohl Stewart, who was just sent down to Iowa yesterday.

For Alzolay, it’s not likely that he misses any significant time due to this injury since it’s something that usually only needs a few days or so to heal up. The biggest question really was why he took the mound last night at all after reports surfaced that he had the blister before the game started. I guess we’ll never know.
