Kris Bryant has been traded to the San Francisco Giants, news that broke just a few hours ago. It’s a gut-shot to the fans who’ve been through thick and thin with this team. Bryant was my personal favorite and my 9-year-old son has grown up idolizing him, at the behest of this old man.
The Cubs won’t be the same without him. My only hope is they manage to sign him as a free agent. But, based on their inability to resign any of their core players, I have very little confidence Jed Hoyer and Tom Ricketts have what it takes to make that happen.
From Rookie of the Year to MVP and World Series Champion.
We've watched you grow into one of the best ballplayers and human beings to wear a Cubs uniform.
