Chicago Cubs Lineup (7/31/21): Ortega Leads Off, Romine at SS, Hendricks Pitching

Boy, these games just aren’t really fun to break down. I’ll get into a rhythm at some point, but we’re not there yet. As such, you’re not getting a scouting report on the pitching. Apologies for that, it just really doesn’t matter right now.

Rafael Ortega is in center, Willson Contreras is catching, Ian Happ is in left, and Patrick Wisdom is at first. David Bote is at third, Jason Heyward is in right, Sergio Alcántara is at second, and Andrew Romine is at short.

I have no proof, but I’m pretty sure this is the first time the Cubs have employed two different Romines in a season.

Kyle Hendricks is pitching and is the Cubs’ best chance to win tonight, so they’d better hope he’s sharp.

First pitch is at 6:05pm CT on Marquee and 670 The Score.
