Padres Reportedly Enter Picture for Kris Bryant
It’s already been a busy Wednesday morning for MLB free agents and things are looking to heat up, especially when it comes to former Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant. With the signings today of Seiya Suzuki and Kyle Schwarber, Bryant has a little less company among the top remaining position players on the market. That could have a new team entering the picture, particularly when they had been considered the favorites for Suzuki.
MLB Network’s Jon Heyman reports that the Padres are looking at Bryant to man third for them, though he notes that Bryant is one of a few different options
Padres are looking at Kris Bryant among a number of other options. Would be interesting to start the season with Bryant at 3B and Manny Machado at SS. Rockies, others are in on KB.

With Fernando Tatis Jr. out of commission for a while, Manny Machado could slide back to short for a while and they could reshuffle later in the season.
The Rockies emerged as a surprise suitor for Bryant earlier this week and it appears they are still very serious about landing the former NL MVP and Rookie of the Year. It’s entirely possible those efforts could intensify as the Rox were reportedly also interested in Schwarber.
