Myrtle Beach Pelicans Throw Combined No-Hitter
No-hitters are rare, and even more rare are those of the combined variety. And yet, the Myrtle Beach Pelicans — the Chicago Cubs Low-A affiliate — just threw a combined no-hitter, just the third no-hitter in Pelicans’ history.
For their efforts, pitchers Walker Powell, Adam Laskey, and Jake Reindl all combined to also take home Players of the Game honors.
Now, that’s just good clean fun, not to mention that Kevin Alcántara also went yard tonight for his first home run of the season.
